Breakaway

Is anyone else watching the reveal of Breakaway?

Looks like League Of Legends mixed with Rocket League, this could be really fun!

The live reveal is on now.

It was really awesome seeing Gutter and Grimmz on stream.

Everything else though…I dunno.

Hearing the interviews with the players was inspiring and all (Gutter’s especially, like ■■■■) but I feel like it wasn’t the right way to advertise the game. I know you want to introduce these players to give people an idea of why they’re significant, but this is the first time you’re showing off a game (I assume anyway); we want to see gameplay asap, and it took quite a bit of time to get to that point.

The twitch chat was cancer, not much to say besides that.

The game itself…I mean it looks kind of fun. The team dynamics and overall pacing are intriguing to me. But I don’t know if this kind of game is really my thing. I’m not a sports game person, and the only MOBA I like is Battleborn (I know Breakaway’s not really a full on MOBA but it definitely borrows aspects from them). I’ll keep an eye on this game since it looks interesting just form this early build, but it’s not something I’m super excited for.

Whens Strider! :stuck_out_tongue:

Wait how can LoL and fun be in the same sentence? I don’t get it. Someone help me out here.

I’m really intrigued by this. First of all, I’m so indebted to DH for their role in making KI season 1 that I’m inclined to buy whatever they make just because. The game itself is kind of an overwatch:battleborn:rocketleague:idarb thing that could be fun or not - but is moving into a pretty crowded game space. If you want to play something like this you have lots of choices.

But what’s really interesting is the promise of built in integration and stream support. This is sort of what we were promised by both Sony and MS in this gen of consoles and so far neither one of them has delivered. And it looks like MS has basically abandoned this with their dropping Fable Legends. We will see if they recapture it with their leagues or whatever they are working on.

In any event, Amazon has clued into the fact that streamers are what elevate any of these indistinguishable games above the crowd so they are marketing this game directly to the streamers. It’s a fascinating and bold experiment and I’m really interested to see if it works.
