Looks like my kinda game. Slipped under my radar…
Any recommendations?
Hmm, looks like Smash is finally getting some competition (but not really).
Things are heating up, because there’s also this:
Nice. I like it.
Disclaimer: I did not watch the video in the OP, so what I’m about to write may have been covered already.
The first time you start it up, you can choose from a set of five or so free characters. The rotation of free characters changes fairly often (possibly each week). You earn in game currency from playing the game which you can use to purchase characters permanently. If you want extras like costumes though, you are going to have to pay for them.
There are only two attack buttons (like Smash) but IIRC each character has the same moves when unarmed. Each character has two weapons they can use and their attacks vary with each. Some of the weapon attacks may be unique to a certain character (ex: Ragnir using fire to heat up his axe).
There are plenty of different gameplay types to keep things interesting so if you haven’t yet, you should give it a shot.
Looks like a fun game, hope it comes to xbox or switch…
Now THATS a launcher. lol!

I dunno if any of them will be able to compete with the standard Smash has set, but they all look appealing in their own ways.
I don’t think Smash would be too hard to rival gameplay-wise, especially from a competitive standpoint. The biggest challenge would probably be impressing enough to compete with Smash’s mascot appeal and content volume.
Welp, EVO organisers will have to kick out more games to make place for these
Exactly!
@VerminatorX That won’t happen, because those won’t draw in a large enough crowd.
I would not be surprised if it would happen, there are two smash games at 2017 apparently, at the expense of some actual fighting games.
Microsoft should consider adding some KI characters to Brawlhalla, (Jago, Orchid, Fulgore, and Glacius wouldn’t be a bad place to start.)
