did anyone wished for a new KI for years?

We’ve been hoping and praying for years now. Maybe with the new xbox in 2027?
Here’s hoping we get a new KI.
Well, so much for a new KI. 
Xbox has been on a decline for years because they keep making ill fated decisions about the xbox brand, and because of this, they aren’t probably going to be inclined to take a chance on a franchise that wouldn’t generate a large amount of revenue and renew interest in this declining brand.
Fighting games by nature are niche, and a niche product for a niche market on a declining brand’s system likely isn’t to have much interest from those who would want to toss money in different directions.
From the look of things over this weekend from Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Showcase, as well as the Playstation State of Play, all the major console brand competitors are starting to make major pivots in their strategy to appeal to their respective target demographics and tossing out games they feel will likely bring back old fans, possibly generate new ones, and rebuild. Nintendo never abandoned this idea, but embraced their own set of ideas that have damaged their image in the eyes of the public. Once Xbox is back on a solid standing, MS would likely be more willing to revisit a franchise like KI, which could be another few years at least if everything goes according to plan. Until then, our best bet is hope.
True, I guess. Still, it’s kind of a bitter pill to swallow regardless, and I hope it isn’t another twenty years until the next KI.
