Just recently reinstalled KI and Down/angle does not Work towards the left. This has happen before. I can’t do most specials. Can’t be the controls, cause this motion works in other games. Was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
Nop, no problem here
What kind of controller/ fightstick are you using?
I have this problem, but for me it’s a simple left-right issue with my own hands that are biased more towards right-facing attacks.
I had this problem, but in my case was a defective xbox controller.
weird, i thought this exact same thing since the update too, even used a brand new xbox one controller (used previously abuot twice to turn the console on only)
I’ve had that problem with my Xbox One d-pad too, also with the down-left diagonal, making QCL motions drop about half the time. I’ve read that the d-pads simply need to be worn in for some time and then it will work as normally. Hasn’t yet happened for me though.
360 pads seem to not have that problem from what I’ve experienced, so there’s another option.
Yeah, on regular XB1 controllers what happens is the underside of the Dpad has these nubs that push down 4 metal bubbles(forgive my lack of technical lingo);up, down, left, and right; on the pcb, and over time with the plastic rubbing on metal they wear down, and when they do one of the nubs will be too short to press the needed direction down at the same time as the other, making diagonals miss.
I hadn’t actually thought of what you mentioned before, but I suppose if they all wore down at an equal rate then perhaps they would work properly even with them being worn down.
I have this prpblem too, well just do the input more fast and press the button right after the last input. (and do the half circle correctly)
I guess it is the controller. This is the second controller I’ve bought cause of this. Same input too. Wonder what is going on, that just that input would go bad.It only works, if I press it super hard.
This problem has happened to me a few times due to excessive KI-playing. The solution is to either replace the whole controller or buy a new D-pad and replace that yourself. The connectors on the underside of the D-pad eventually get worn out and diagonals do not register as consistently as they should.
The controller should still work fine with shooters and pretty much all other kids of games. Fighting games are a slow death for all controllers I’ve noticed.
