Aganos vs. Season 3

This will happen if you don’t press HP and HK precisely enough (you’ll get one or the other), or if you press instinct twice non-rapidly (you’ll press a button during a screen freeze, and KI always makes those inputs come out).

I don’t think this has changed at all from S2.

Eh… I think there’s more within your control than you might think. You might not like some particular change to Aganos, but that’s not the same thing as “out of my control”.

I do not think that message about input errors when trying to do things that weren’t changed in any way warrants such a response. It has nothing to do with changes, at least intentional or announced.

I was mostly referring to when he mentioned how he dislikes the grounded heavy armor change, which seems to have impacted his preferred playstyle a lot.

Well, I don’t think heavies are outside of Aganos player’s control. Input issues, well, they may be…

I’m honestly still dubious about the input “changes” though - none of the other Aganos mains on the forums have reported anything similar

It sucks to have junk inputs come out (I’ve lost matches over manual->wrath counter instead of manual->ultra), but by and large, the fault when I turn on input display has always been my own. I still think it’s a little bugged out to be honest, but until I take the time to find a clip that confirms “see, I had a valid ultra input in there!” I have to concede that my loss is probably my fault.

I’m an Aganos main since his launch, and I didn’t have any input issues with him. I’ve managed to reach Killer in less than a week from s3 without experimenting any unwinnable MU (I havent faced many Mayas or Sadiras, tho).

My gameplan with Aganos its basically the same with minor changes. I try to stay close to characters with far good normals, and the recycle mechanic and peacemaker changes allows me to a more satisfying experience. Overall, Aganos seems better in a lot MU where he was doomed. I particulary see a great improvement against Jago.

IMO we need some adjustements to his new mechanics, but I see him like a balanced, honest, and fun character, which its great ^^

Just out of curiosity, what are some of the adjustments you think should be made?

Sorry, language barriers. I mean WE must adjust to the new mechanics (specially the armor change in the case of Aganos, but also new mechanics like stagger and so), I wasn’t suggesting a change in the game balance at all.

I hate to admit it, but it appears that I was wrong. I took a 2nd look at my elite controller, after nearly tossing it into the wall from yet another loss, and it appears that it is no longer, well, elite at all. Apparently the RB doesn’t push in if I press it on the outer-most right edge (which I apparently do quite often). So, naturally, this would easily make activating instinct really rather difficult, as well as cause a HK to come out instead, and can even explain why my shadow moves haven’t been working on wakeup a lot of the time too. Even worse, this also appears to be the case with my other controllers, hence why I didn’t catch it before (I would guess that it’s because I’m pressing the RB too hard, but I would’ve thought that, being an elite controller, it would’ve lasted). I only figured this out when I asked to borrow 1 of the controllers from my brother’s console, which I never use.

Since then, I haven’t had a single noticeable input error (although I’m having to re-adjust to the normal height of the joysticks again) involving the RB.

Even better, after days of literally every single game for this and various other reasons in both Killer Instinct and other games (Halo 5, World of Tanks, Rocket League, and Gears of War 4 beta), it’s nice to finally be winning again. It was beginning to become rather quite depressing not having, and I kid you not, a single win in any game for almost a week (hence my cranky "excuse-filled posts all week). Still, it was nice to see that I can now once again beat a 4-star top 32 player’s Glacius in ranked leagues once again.

Despite the good news of finally coming to terms with the truth of what’s been going on, it still sucks though, 'cause it means that I need to buy a new controller - and after having the elite controller, which is supposed to last (and that apparently doesn’t), I’m torn between the decision of buying another elite controller or just a standard model AND am left wondering just how long that 1 might actually last… :expressionless:

So, fight on!

I just checked and the S2 bug of close standing MP manual being uncancelable into ultra if you had 50% wrath seems to be gone (yay!). So yeah, this definitely used to be a real bug, but I think it’s normal now.

To be honest, most of expensive controllers I was gathering information about (among others) aren’t known for their longevity. You can only really rely on warranty, and that is out of the window the moment it expires. Also price hike is such that it suggests that it’s not there because of extra manufacturing expenses, so there’s that.

Now, I’m not a pad user, but at one point I was trying to figure out what to buy in case I want something more portable than a KB, or just a second controller for my PC (never hurts when you play FGs  ).

I kinda miss the time when we could have nice things… Which may or may not be never.

Lucky you. Mayas, Sadiras and Shagos seemed to be the only things I faced on my way to Killer rank. :unamused:

Funny you say, actually Shago isn’t so bad MU IMO.
Sure shago has tools and its in probably in his favor, but if your spacing its ok and you play cautious, isnt so bad

Oh yeah, Shago may be tricky, but he’s manageable. It’s just that he’s god ■■■■ everywhere nowadays ever since he was made permanently available for purchase.

Mostly people “trying” him or getting the achievements. Real Shagos arent more numerous than any other character, as far as I see

I find Shago to be 50/50; depends on how well you defend, watch the surge amount, and break his juggles.
