About Eyedol's design and the struggle to redesign him

Technically he had seven moves. :stuck_out_tongue:

The Shoulder charge, the Stampede, the various whacks with the club, He can easily be made to be the ultimate Rush down character… add health regeneration (slow regeneration) and a double head butt (1st) plus a triple slam (2nd) command Grab and I’m sold

Yeah man I am definitely down. How/where do we get it started though? Also, does IG need to approve it? I know the community could probably raise the money, but I guess we need to find out if IG is willing to make him at all in the first place.

I never really played the classic KI, but I have seen Eyedol and think he is one of the most unintentionally silly looking characters in a video game. They would have to do a real number on him to get the non-fans (such as myself) exited.

That’s the thing though, he’s supposed to appeal to the fantasy fans. Not every character is meant to appeal to all players.

I know what you mean, I’m just saying the appeal is limited.

True enough but the same could be said for any character, I am not at all interested in Kim Wu simply because she’s NOT fantasy enough, she’s another boring human character. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I feel like he deserves to be a full character that belongs in the cast. Not an afterthought.

The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958): No one complains about this Cyclops’s design.

Killer Instinct (1994): Everyone hate him because his design is suck and lame.

So… Can anyone explain about this?

Eyedol being cheap was a final boss. While I always called him an sob for that, that’s what a final boss does. But I do agree, he is a neat character.

I personally ahd nothing against Kim Wu, but I do think her new design was an improvement of the original, but in the original Kim-Wu’s defense this was in a time period were 2000 years ago.

@M00NLightNinja and other supporter sof Eyedol
Be ready for what his new design will be if he make sit.
Because I expect his design may split the community like a lot of the new looks did.

As long as it has two heads and two eyes, I’m okay with anything else they do with him.

Different time periods. If you took that Cyclops and put him in a movie today then yes, people would hate him. What was once consider terrifying and cutting edge is now considered goofy.

That’s not what all final bosses do, just bad ones. M.Bison in Street Fighter 2 is probably one of the best examples. His AI did not make him cheap, there were no unfair buffs with him like Eyedol’s regenerating health or Shao Kahn’s 2x damage & defense. If you lost, it really felt like it was your own fault. Bison was hard, but not cheap.

Well its a matter of taste, that is what I think makes a great boss in a fighting game that they can be hard and a pain. Heck Necrosan (the planned boss for Primal Rage) was going to drain your life away as one of his attacks. That alone would’ve made him hard as h.e.l.l. Besides, a cheap final booss can pull your hair out, it’s true, but when ya beat them. It adds satisfactory. Shadow Jago was also an example of pain in the rear boss in the game.

I’m pretty sure they will keep those most of those, Just get ready for it if it happens.

It never felt satisfying to me to finish off a cheap boss. Now a fair but hard one…oh yeah, I definitely get a rush from that. But a cheap boss, I honestly just feel like I wasted my time on something that was not fun.

I have the feeling tha it’s all Ken Lobb’s fault. He said “I don’t like Eyedol” so the rest of the team has to make excuses to not include him.

But that’s none of my business sips tea
