You make us happy! Keep playing!
keep showing and telling us all about your interactions! its nice to see bonds formed form KI
Talking about bounding and a good gaming community:
I was thinking I may be a bit too sensitive, but when it comes to fighting games and trolling I find it very annoying.
Lucky me for the communities like this and some of my neighbour communities were welcoming.
My local community, sadly, still likes (maybe for fun) saying I canāt be good because Iām a woman or make fun of it. Some discredit may also happen. And if they consider I play well then I must be a man disguissed as a woman or thereās something wrong with me. Iām not liking them calling me names or whatever. And I may be talking about a minority, but itās discouraging enough in a certain way.
I was thinking of making a KI tutorial for them, in Spanish. But I got upset for a guy calling me names and I said āwhat the heck?, why bother for people like this?ā.
Of course I shouldnāt care what some think. Why canāt I like KI? I probably love KI more than any of them since I was little. The game gives me the opportunity to be in equal conditions where the smarter or better player wins, this is not a āfist fightā, we are just pressing buttons. Gender has nothing to do. How dumb makes them look like saying those things.
For the record, not in Chile or in Brazil have called me names or treated me as a fake profile like in my own country Argentina. Shame on the trolls that ruin the scene.
And again, Iām too sensitive. Other women may not care, and thatās great. But I have my limits and may be short tempered sometimes. Something I have to work on. Because Iām human.
Iām sad and ask myself, whatās wrong in this country where the most trolling, cunning and arrogant people seems to be looked up too???
Iām not the right person to deal with that. But Iāll try to do my best.
Maybe Iām taking it too seriously, but I respect them and ask for the same. Anyway, I canāt change the world. But I donāt want the world to change me in the process.
Sorry for the personal rant. I needed to take it out of my chest. You are the best community Iāve seen and I felt I could share my feelings, despite some times not making the best comments or expressing myself well ( Dayvo speaks a lot better English than me haha!)
I think itās balance. Where there is a heel, there needs to be a face. The underdog to root for in a sense. When Sleep was bopping fools left and right at KIWC some people felt this pride for the runner-up opposed to the champion, hence Storm.
It honestly makes the experience more fun when you see karma happen instantly or for some people when the heel conquers the good guy, not everything has a fairy tale ending in the case of KIWC.
Most of these people are genuinely nice, some exceptions honestly and in that caseā¦ they are just ā ā ā ā ā ā thatās in their blood. Regarding people calling you out on your gender and how it somehow determines your competitiveness, thereās no point. Those people are just bigoted and arguing with them is futile as they will just live their entire lives believing what they want.
Just to clarify the context: Iām talking about my country, not the US (just in case for anyone reading the quote and not what I said).
Sure, I donāt want to lose hope in humanity just for some trolls. And even if a corrupted group has someone who is worth as a person, then thereās still hope for better.
It just gets me sometimes.
Yeap, those kind of guys/gals, I donāt want them for friends.
Jaja, you say it like if you were bad at English!
@MaruMDQ you both speak bad English
Sir, I demand you a satisfaction!
FT10!
LOL
At least we tryā¦and adapt
Lol thatās awesome
I never have a problem understanding either of you.
Your English is definitely better than my Spanish!
they all understand āyou lostāā¦
#SORRY ABOUT IITTTTTT
lol
Yeahā¦ Sadly, @MaruMDQ has a very good Gargos, and the last time we fought she handidly defeated my Sadiraā¦ Granted now that Gargos has been nerfed, I do find myself winning more Gargi battles than losing.
Gargos is evil! he should be replaced with KI 2 version AT ONE lol
Gargos is actually quite a bit easier to deal with now that heās been properly balancedā¦ well unless you are playing against Sleep (nerf Sleep!).
I had a guy curse me over and over in Spanish this weekend. He thought I didnt know what he was saying. (Just pulled up a translator) Oh manā¦ he got reported for sure. LOL
"Mexican Anthrax" watch out for him.
I responded politely all in Spanishā¦LOLā¦ didnt bother himā¦he just kept on.
Iām flattered that you include me in that list, given the amount of salt Iāve thrown your way :D. Nonetheless, I really appreciate the gesture and the amount youāve taught me since we started playing KI.
We really need to play some time for a little bit of sister solidarity! Itās a shame that thatās happened to you, I seem to get the opposite, the mouth breathing creeps trying to get in my knickers, overall, being a woman on the internet or within the gaming community can be delightful, canāt it?
Also, some cool dudes in this thread, though Iāve been here a year and only seem to have dug into the community a little bit, itās been great meeting you guys, info sharing and chatting with you all!
I think @SightlessKombat is the person Iāve played with the most, though I havenāt seen him (or anyone, really ) in a while, real life got very problematic and playing anything online was sending my stress levels into the stratosphere and making me pretty depressed, I feel I can finally make a little more sense of everything now, though.
Anyway, the few times Iāve met @WandaMaximoff @MandrillManiac @DoobyDude23 @ZTRAINOVER9000 and @Fwufikins online have been really cool, Mandrill particularly has a way of gathering people together and getting them to have fun!
I know this thread really is intentioned towards people whoāve met in real, but the likelihood of that happening is slim - Iād feel too out of place at an offline tourney, plus I wouldnāt know where to start with travel to one in the UK!
But anyways, if youāre tagged thank you for playing, if you think you should be, put in a complaint and Iāll sort it!
