I wanted a male vampire too. But we got a female one. It’s not what I wanted, but the gender of a character is not important - it’s merely a preference. So no complaints from me.
As long they make the character awesome! That’s what really counts. And a character’s gender should not be part of that discussion, because then we are heading into misogyny/misandry territory. Hating a character due to its gender is simply wrong. There are other factors that are more important that should matter more.
However, whether you prefer male or female characters is up to the individual, but again, the gender of a character should not be the defining matter. Such things as sexuality and skin-colour fall under the same category. Then it’s not the character there’s anything wrong with, but rather those condemning it for being a certain gender/sexuality/race.

Back on topic. I don’t really see the issue with her being female.
While “we” is multiple persons it doesn’t absolutely equate to every person, he didn’t say “everybody” or “nobody”.
He should generally not speak on others behalf though.
She would be Perfect… Isgreen already said they wanted to balance out the roster. Why not have a female guests character? And hopefully they use the original PD menu music.

Strongly agree here. It doesn’t matter what gender they are. As long as they play well it’s a-okay in my book.

Even so, he should realize that there was opposition to the idea of a male vampire or just general ignorance of the gender. It would be more appropriate to say “some of us” and just avoid all this in the first place.
I agree we got enough guets. Leave te rest for more original KI characters. No more need for fan-fantasies!
For my case it isn’t her gender, it’s her general apperance. Though if I were to go way back I should of seen this coming…I mean they hinted Maya’s sister Mira she could of easily been pushed aside as a background character but instead they hinted at her as a character. While I am dissapointed because she’s yet another vampire with the human look. However considerin everything I should of seen this coming.

Looks good! But I hope this is the last time we get trailers with no new character tease at the end until a new version is released with the tease days or weeks later. Hopefully when we get the next character reveal trailer it comes with an actual tease at the end.

I’m actually glad she didn’t. It’s a personal thing but I just didn’t have the nostalgic connection with her to get me super hype. The Arbiter on the other hand, did, and I was really happy with his reveal.

If I were to chime in on this complaining atmosphere I would say this new Bloodsucker looks amazing and Im definitely gonna play her. However if theres one thing I would change it would be giving her Long impossibly perfect Curls down her shoulders and back. Like her hair was done by God herself.
I like my vampires to be similar to the Author Laurell K. Hamilton’s vision. I like them elegant, looking Godly, neigh impossible beauty standards that take centuries of techniques and fitness to achieve. I like them looking like they belong to a Pantheon but they are physically weaker than Werewolves but harbor Talents closer to Kan-Ra than a beast. Various psionic abilities relating to animals, elements, the mind itself or even Death Itself.
I like where this vampire character is going. I hope her hair is an accessory.
It wasn’t nostalgia for me, I’ve never even played perfect dark. I’m not so much invested in Joanna as a memory…
It was the addition of a true spy and a female character bringing a new archetype of gunslinging and martial arts.
Also that the lengthy backstory of the Disavowed Agency may have nodded to her addition but maybe all the backstory write ups were aiming to reach and do the most.
Still hope they bring in a true female spy trope.
