This made my night so much lol
Why?
Because I am ghost like Hisako.

GGs go out to @KevBones10 for the fun set of matches we had. His Fulgore (with a one match appearance from Arbiter) vs my RAAM and Kan Ra. I think he won like 10-5 or something like that. Happy to at least get a couple of wins.
GGS to you! Your Kan-Ra’s set-up are really good than mine.
Hmm, while it’s true that I’m somewhat casual these days, I’m down to learn as many mechanics as I can, it’s just that now I’m old, it takes that much longer for things to soak in and my muscle memory sometimes has dementia. Still asses will be kicked whenever possible, please don’t get me wrong on that one.
I wouldn’t expect any less, not sure where @GalacticGeek was going with that statement, it’s possible I may underwhelm but after playing so many fighters in the past I like to think I’m not brain dead.
Again, I wasn’t trying to imply that anyone should downplay you or anyone, and I’m sorry if it came out that way. It just seemed to me during our set like you didn’t care about winning as long as you were having fun, which is what I was trying to drive home with that statement (while also quoting a favorite song).
Also, you’re only as old as you want to be. My students remind me of that every day.
Fun is the primary objective, I’d rather laugh at mistakes than be salty about them, it’s healthier and better for your blood pressure too, I try to see it as, lose a fight, gain some knowledge.
+1
Some of my defeats are funnier than my victories. Yesterday, while playing ranked, I fought a really good Rash. I managed to win my first set(barely), and messaged the other player, praising his Rash. He replied me with a Ggs message, and then we got paired again. He managed to win me this time, with quite athority, and I was laughing every time he got me with a different juggle, watching how he converted every read in optimal punishes, and overall, playing very well. We discussed for around 20 minutes via messages, talking about how we learned from our defeats in this sets. I had more fun in that defeat than in the majority of my victories this day.
Some time ago, I gave an advice to a friend who just broke with his girlfriend:
“You should never hold a grudge against an ex-girlfriend, because she teaches you something really important: what you shouldn’t do to the next” (Translated from Spanish, comes to mean that you should learn from your mistakes, so you won’t commit them again)
Extrapolating this into fighting games, I’m never upset when I lose. I have to take the lesson, so the next time, I avoid commiting the same mistakes. I always laugh when I lose, I’m never salty. I believe it’s the healthiest way to take it.
I’m not saying I’m immune to getting annoyed, but it doesn’t happen often on mic during a chill set, it’s more likely if I’ve fought someone not on mic, who is deliberately trying to get under my skin and being as annoying as humanly possible, there’s a difference between getting steamrolled and getting steamrolled by a player with an attitude problem.
My skull can be thick but things get through there sometimes, I’m always learning it’s just that it can take me quite some time, but I rarely learn anything in the type of fights I listed above.
Quite simply put, above all else, be nice, be respectful, have fun but never at the expense of others, if you think someone could use a hand, offer them one and always remember your opponent is human.
I can understand that, but the people who actually try to annoy me is the one who fails more. Double Ultras, teabag, multi taunts… I see them as an attitude problem for the other player when they are performed as “tool” to annoy me. I feel a bit sorrow for people like that
I would like to double like this several times
^^^^^^^^^^^^
This.
It’s funny, playing alone in silence leads to a sort of “road rage” syndrome where no one is there to hear you cursing and yelling. But if you have someone there you respond normally like you would in a social setting.
I had more fun hanging out in a lobby losing on Saturday than I frequently do by winning some sets. It’s all in what your expectations are. If you find that you are losing games and gettin upset the biggest lesson is - walk away. Come back when you feel happy just to play.
It’s funny, since I’m almost always in a party, speaking with someone. Makes me wonder how much that has molded me into “not raging”, since I’m always with someone listening me
Sounds like we need a fun Lobby to start again.
Can someone FT9001 me this Saturday? I need some stress relief.
I got @STORM179 flashbacks from this guy on ranked.
Your Wulf is always on me you play the matchup well ggs good sir
I’ve heard of RockRobster as a good Hisako, but never played him or seen him play before. At the very least, the man seems to know his tiger knees.
For what it’s worth, pretty sure all those TK ORZ’s were lights though Watched on my phone with a not-great connection, but that’s they looked like. If Sako is ever chaining air-ORZ’s together like that, they’ll almost always be lights and mediums, but mostly lights.
Lights huh… Good to know
Yeah. The heavier air-ORZ’s are considerably slower, so the link is relatively tighter to hit if you want to use mediums, and heavy ORZ doesn’t actually combo off the light one at all. If they want to combo with it, heavy air-ORZ can only be done after a medium or heavy air-ORZ.
