The "GGs" Thread! (AKA The Enormous Matchmaking and Rational Beef Resolution Thread)

Hmmmmmm, is that the only one to be able to qualify for online?

Yeah pretty much. There’s still the last chance qualifiers tournament for the offline warriors.

I see…hmmmmmmmmmmm… now for this pro league, you gotta be top 32 was it?

No. You get points based on how you place.

“The nicki dp”…yeah, that pretty sums up his fulgore. When in doubt, just DP, what’s the worst that could happen?

So anyone can join in this pro league then?

You get dunkarino’D.

Yes. It’s completely free. Just sign up.

So far those dp\s have been paying off. I’m personally not a fan of such tactics, mainly because it never works out for me so I never bother.

Well, this is one step to becoming a better player; trying to understand why his DPs work while yours don’t. He is likely doing them in better spots, or he has established other areas of his game that allow him to get away with more things.

A lot of Nicky’s DPs are pip canceled on reaction to a jump or something. It’s very hard to do consistently.

I imagine, but I don’t play characters with a dp other then ARIA who only gets it in blade body, and not exactly willing to just throw a body away. Not my style, I do use the abare style, just not with invincibles and not very often either.

I saw a comment of yours regarding walkspeeds.

Wulf and Blade body ARIA have the fastest walkspeeds in the game. They are actually really and I mean REALLY close togeher so you could say they are basically equal. ARIA in general has slightly slower walkspeed then jago (again basically same thing here with wulf and blade body scenario.) So ARIA has aeverage - best walkspeed in the game.

I know orchid, warrior eyedol and shago have also good walkspeed.

Orchid walks faster than both of these characters.

eyedol and shago?

Yes.

For shago, yes orchid is faster. Warrior eyedol…well…technically no. Warrior eyedol walks faster then orchid BUT it’s the same scenario with wulf and blade body ARIA. It’s so small you might as well say they are both equal.

I’m reading some of these comments from hero. Sounds like he got worse near S1’s end. Doesn’t sound very confident in his breaking or counter-breaking game.

I just think Hero doesn’t like KI that much. He seems to spend much of his time trying to pretend KI is a different game than it is. Sometimes you just have to make peace with the game, or else move on to something that makes you happier. I’ve seen him play before, he’s a good player and knows how the game works, he just seems to reject much of the game over some philosophical objection. If that’s the case, I dunno what to say or do.

I can’t speak for his motivations but if he doesn’t like to ever enter the combo system, he will probably not enjoy KI that much. Oh well, not looking to bring that conversation over here, so we’ll just end it here.

Eh, I played with him in the past during S1. I didn’t hear any complaints from him then. But whatever not a big deal.

I said I’d drop it, but did he really just say “I need cr.short x2 xx dp?” I can’t believe. I’m sorry, but…noo…this is KI. Punishing things like DP’s with cr.short x2 xx dp is…no…no…no…please no.

Actually…since it’s KI… nevermind please yes. If that’s all the damage I take then yes. Bring it on.

What bothers me is that I always want a piece of the action when it comes to the KI Pro League / 8-Bit Beatdown events, but I never seem to know when they are and always miss them (I’ve only participated in 2 so far). I don’t want to be bothered checking the site all the time either. Is there another way to know when they are?

In other news, I went over 50+ wins in a row yesterday across 2 very determined opponents (props to them, BTW - they learned a LOT; I could see them improve substantially during the sets), in exhibition, and decided to see if I broke my all-time consecutive-win record in the process. Turns out, I didn’t even come close - the record stands at 121 straight wins.

I knew my Aganos was good, but ■■■■! This golem’s no joke!
