Nah. Both Injustice stories were awful IMO.
Matter of taste. I personally love all NRS’s story modes… maybe with the exception of MKvsDCU, but that was pre-NRS after all…
Presentation wise, NRS games are phenomenal. MK9/X and both Injustice games have the best looking story modes and cutscenes in any fighting game I have played(besides the Naruto and Dragon Ball ones but those don’t count). Whether you like the writing or gameplay is completely up to you though.
I’m always talking about the writing.
Edit: This thread must die now tho
There’s certain moments I don’t like, but beyond that, I think Injustice made a cool version of the DC universe. Matter of taste and preference, I guess.
MK9 story would not exist if Raiden said “shao kahn must win” instead of “he must win”. Writing is as stupid as everywhere.
but yea like i said thats my point they make content for all the player base most people love the story some only do online others wanna do single fight every now and again, but they make every player happy and IMO killer instinct kinda did that but not really
I thought we’re talking writing.
Tbh… I forgot what this post was about.
i was talking about, is a story mode in a fighting game necessary and i feel that it is very necessary cause it actually makes a fighting game for me
Well for me it ALWAYS depends on how it is written, not just how it looks graphically.
Injustice 1 was worse then Injustice 2 (I don’t like the magic pills and evil superman), but 2 could’ve used better…story telling and the character placemnets are all over the place which I hate. (Swamp thing and atroicitous DO NOT need to be in that mode same with joker.)
Mortal Kombat I have no problems except on how they treated Kotal kahn but that’s personal bias.
Also I REALLY Don’t think a fighting game needs to have a great long lore. Just small character bios and basic plot. Like SFII and KI1 and Mk9 towers. Those were fine and good enough
This irked me to no end on I2’s story. They kept showing hints of people trying to talk sense into Supes and perhaps like it would turn in to a arch of him going through a path to redemption, what with the Justice Leauge table & whatnot, and in the end him and Bats were like “Weren’t the good ol’ days great? Well, back to being a d*ck… *punches Bats through a wall *”

I hate the thought of evil superman…
2 edgy 4 me.
to me personally games that don’t have lore or story are lazy having just bios is boring and having just an arcade mode to me doesn’t give the game character personality its like having fulgore fighting saberwolf, if wold one people will be like how did a wolf beat a robot and a story campaign can give the people and fans answers to questions like that … plus having a story may make the game more money, like SFV regardless of what people think of the story mode fans and players wanted it and when the game released it it made more money
I wouldn’t have minded them having Supes be not so much full-on 24/7 boy scout, and perhaps have to live with knowing he screwed up and then from that grow him through working to gain back trust, falling into moments of relapse, questioning what’s right and what’s not, etc, etc. There’s so much they could have done with him besides keep him a one-note villan.
I mean they basically made him into Megatron (not movie version) where he thinks he’s always right and peace can only be found under his heel. And while I love me some good Megatron, Superman is not him and should not be him.
