Yeah I mainly play Exhibition you are right why didn’t I think about this before thats actually a really brilliant idea you pitched to me.
I will do exactly this I will give them the Alt F4 treatment
Thanks dude I actually didn’t even think of this before.

thanks @Hogarn yeah it runs in my family hypertension and diabetes. I usually have a great time when I play with genuine folks I do often meet good humans in KI who don’t see the need to keep T bagging and taunting
I have managed to reach Silver Rank in KI for what its worth though. Once I warm up and feel confident I sometimes switch over to ranked but mostly I stick to casual mode.
Its why I also play FightCade, no ranked points at stake just casual fun.
My doctor’s orders were to completely quit games, but its something I have never been able to do so I try to work around the issues instead. But I will give people the Alt F4 Treatment from now on. If they wanna be ■■■■■■■■ then I will respond in the same way.
Not strictly true since SF2 nor the original KI or the original Mortal Kombat trilogy had taunts and everything since has followed on with those original games as templates. “Tactical taunting” and teabagging to wind your opposition up came with the advent of online competitive gaming and some of us old sods wish it would go right back where it came from.
Blade Symphony on the PC has a feature that allows you to bow to your opposition upon starting and ending a fight which is something I wish would be considered for other competitive martial arts style games, as a counter balance to all the people who have set out just to get on your nerves (and there are a lot of them in Killer Instinct particularly. -_-

Actually Shao Khan in MK2 on up constantly taunts you while you fight.
In home versions, when you played as him, you could taunt as well.
However, Taunts, as we know them didn’t come into fruition until the competitive scene.
This is actually a very good idea. Perhaps the devs can’t add respect salutes but they can however give us the ability to turn off taunts on our end so that the opponent can still use them but we won’t see them. @TempusChaoti @developers
There’s no turning off taunts in any fighting game. Sure that idea sounds good but that would completely backfire in an actual match.
Well one way I could think of, even if they are disabled a lot of people will do a taunt several times in succession…in that case you would still see them shimmy in place. Also if the reason a player taunts is because they want to make you salty and they know it might get lost in transition, there’s a good chance they will start to do an action they know will come through loud & clear, so you’ld likely see a massive increase in teabagging.

sorry @WrathOfFulgore but your post makes no sense there is NO backfiring in having an option to disable taunt on my end
When they taunt on my end they will just look normal standing, just like everyother fighting game on the planet. But on their end they can enjoy their taunt all they want I don’t see an issue with giving an option to remove it from the client’s end.
I don’t see what your problem will be, you can still taunt and look cool as much as you want
There is a reason SF5 and MKXL does not have any taunts.

My point is whether you shut it off or not you will likely see movement indicating they are taunting you like a mo-fo. Take Spinal for example…rarely do I see anyone let out a single taunt. They taunt, and then move slightly to cancel the taunt, and then taunt again, rinse & repeat. And while you may not see Spinal throw back & laugh over & over, you would still see him do a weird shimmy walk which would be a very clear indication that they are indeed taunting you over & over.
Bottom line is you can’t disable bad behavior any more than I can disable an opponent mistaking a light-hearted ribbing as a severe insult.

I think KI has too much toxicity for newcomers, what the OP is saying is that this won’t let him enjoy the game and that is important. Fighters do have taunts but lets be honest, I haven’t seen this taunt spamming ever in a fighter. Same with “tea…ing”. When I first saw it I didn’t like it and of course it was going to be an issue. If you really think about it is “dumb” but what we hate is what it’s stands for. If I haven’t played Gears of War before I would 've been feeling bad about this in KI. I’m good enough to beat some people but I may lose eventually, I won’t be able to beat them all. The very good players that beat me actually won’t do this often. But the “lucky ones” scrubby laggers or whatever may do this.
I was talking the other day with another player about why KI isn’t as popular as other fighting games, and I was concerned by this. He actually thinks that this thing of “humiliating” with taunts and teaba…s acts as a keep away for new players. And what if it’s true? In a way?
After lurking on the forums for awhile now and seeing all your threads this comment gave me a good laugh, thanks!

Not really because it could be interpreted as them just walking.
Um no it wouldn’t. It wouldn’t appear as walking. It would look like the character is having a seizure which is a clear sign you are being taunted.

What will happen if you get your way and you can’t see taunts online? What do you think ppl who taunt will do? When these ppl taunt they WANT YOU TO KNOW THEY ARE TAUNTING YOU. If they change this then they will just teabag you. You can’t escape ppl trying to disrespect you in online gaming. You can’t filter everybody, so stop trying. Because it will nvr work.
actually Tea Bagging is the easiest problem to solve, when the opponent or whoever dies you disable the ability to crouch for those few seconds until the next match rounds start. You have now officially solved both toxic behavior.
And if someone is dumb enough to Tea Bag during gameplay thats great they can then lose much easier and give me a free win.

So now Maya can’t just stand there and pick up her daggers which requires crouching twice.
She could just dash over them.
(Don’t get me wrong this idea is still dumb IMO)
