Personally I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a hint of connection (or in this case appreciation) between the two characters because it all makes sense altogether (or in the Ki series altogether). We’re not talking about the typical lovey dovey fan fic romance obviously, but it’s pretty important to have that kind of rivalry and chemistry since Jago and Kim are both quite the threat and had 0 chemistry from the 2nd game. The potential plots doesn’t even need to be so obvious since their stories for going against Gargos can be for a different reasoning with some crazy twist that is later joined altogether. It’s only maybe till the end it can be joined as unity/peace so to speak that can be described through the spirit of yin and yang.
No you’re missing the point. I don’t mind a connection as in a general respect and appreciation for each other, but that’s no reason for it to be romantic lovey dovey oowey goowey or not. Why is it so important that they become lovers aside from that’s just what you’d like to see? Why is it so crucial that they be a huge part of each others stories, because of some cultural imagery like Yin and Yang? Well that won’t work because Yin and Yang are basically opposing forces, positive and and negative, the problem here is that Kim and Jago are both positive forces. In order for that to work they have to be opposing somehow. I’m simply saying that if they are apart of each others stories, it should be for a deeper reason than simply cultural imagery dictating so, a la Tiger vs Dragon. That’s not very creative imo.
See here’s what ya don’t understand. The yin-yang is more then just the positive and negative. There’s destruction, peace, and even love (probably more things for that matter.) I’m not saying that they MUST form a romantic relationship but it can be shown in many different aspects then just hugs or kisses. In all honestly, it makes a lot of sense for the characters to have that kind of bond that can later be developed unlike the relationship seen between Maya and Tusk in KI2. It’s not to say that Kim and Jago are gonna be glued as allies from here on out since they probably have their own things to deal with after the chaos of Gargos (or some new final boss) is done and over with. If Jago shows his emotion to Orchid as his sibling then I’m sure he can show the same for Kim and others. Just don’t picture it as another ‘sibling relationship’ in the game since that’s already been done.
Regards to the plot of the Tiger v Dragon theme, they were indeed suggestions from the posts (in the previous forums) since the theme isn’t so popular these days vs the original yin yang alone. And trust me, that specific theme has been done creatively before (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Toradora, were most common) I’m sure IG can come up with something unique (or better) for a potential story.
Well I never said that’s all there is to it. I just said “basically” to keep it simple, nor did I ever imply that Jago is emotionless. So I’d say I do understand I simply didn’t wanna skew off on a tangent? Again you misunderstand. No one said that it had to be a sibling like relationship, just a general respect and appreciation, as in friends nothing more.Someone she can look up to. What’s wrong with them just being friends? No to mention that what you’re suggesting has been done before as well. What is it about what you suggest that hasn’t been done? There are many things in this game that have been done before, but that doesn’t matter. You always have the power to make it unique regardless of it having been done. All I’m saying is that cultural imagery shouldn’t dictate the confines of their connection if they even have one. It should be determined based on them as characters so as to avoid cliches, like Yin and Yang. I wholly understand your meaning I just don’t agree.
An example, the point of them showing mutual appreciation to is a way of showing gratitude to each other and their martial arts is already form of a bond. In all honestly there’s nothing wrong with showing a hint of their friendship developing overtime since that has been done before in the 2nd game, but should be done right with no obvious cliches since that has already been done for different games/series. Not implying they should get married or any obvious romantic tie ins like that since it’s not not what we’re going for don’t get me wrong.
No one has stated they want another sibling relationship or you saying Jago is emotionless since what i’ve said from the previous post were just my opinions. The reason I’ve mentioned that was because I do feel that it will go down that path since a few already mentioned back at the old forums about Kim being super young and all. And overall having the Tiger/Dragon theme altogether will just make it look like a big bro lil sis bond imo (even if they’re only friends). :\ I just don’t see it.
Basically you just said the exact same thing I did. You’re afraid that they’ll become like siblings so your solution is for them to hint at a romance. Well, first the problem here is that you’re assuming. Like I said no one said it should be this way. I don’t know where you’re drawing that conclusion from. Especially since there’s a chance they’ll never even meet to begin with. They never met in KI 2. The Ryu/sakura relationship is a perfect example of what I mean. A common misconception is that she views Ryu as a brother but that’s not true. She simply has a lot of respect for him and looks up to him. I understand that there are other ways of portraying a romance, but the point I’m trying to make is that I don’t care how it’s portayed. I just don’t want it, that’s all. The problem I have with what you say is that it’s black and white. If they don’t hint at a romance then they’ll become like siblings? There’s no grey here, no middle ground. Well then I guess we’ll see.
You mentioned earlier that there’s more than one way to portay a romance, well let me throw that right back at cha. There’s more than one way to portay a non romantic relationship. Considering you know this, it makes your fear of them becoming like siblings that much more inexplicable, but we’ll see.
I, of course, am totally with you on that idea/suggestion in regards to a potential rivalry AND connection between Kim Wu the Dragon Guardian and Jago the Tiger Warrior
I’m pretty sure that any rivalry is going to be friendly between her and Jago, she and Tusk are probably gonna join in with Jago,Orchid, Combo, Maya and even cross paths with Aganos and Thunder to bring down Ultra Tech.
What about Shadow Jago? I think that would be a better epic battle if it was Shadow Jago as Kim’s Rival. A friend she trusts, now thrown into darkness, struggling to retake control of his mind, and the only thing he can do…DESTROY. Lol Plus It’s still a better love story than Twilight. (JK JK )
