Because you’re too far out, I imagine.
There seems to be distance considerations in KI for canceling into the combo engine. If you look at previous patches, they’ll say things like “fixed Thunder unable to cancel after max distance Ankle Slicer into ultra”, which means there must be a distance check to make sure things don’t whiff. Same with, say… Glacius, you can’t cancel into certain enders during his ranged doubles, etc.
So yeah, I imagine there are some kinda “in between” distances where the game makes canceling stuff hard for whatever reason. Just a quirk of the engine we can learn to play around.

This sounds terrible.
I get it, but it removes legit ways to get in on ranged characters.
I’m sure it’s not a big deal, but it just seems REALLY “off”.
