Yeah, it’s pretty much because Rare. People were kinda fanatical for them after DK Country hit…and then KI, then Goldeneye, Banjo, Conker…etc…and my guess is with KI coming back so strong & continuing up into the 3rd season, and with Rash giving the Battletoads new life somewhat they possibly think adding these old characters to KI might in some way bring about a revival of their popularity and in turn their franchises as well.

Hm. I never gave one single thought about Rash being an old Rare character either… 
Goldeneye and the first Perfect Dark were incredibly big games at the time. And they were the first big proper FPS with addicting multiplayer on consoles at the time. Especially since they didnt have the two analog sticks on the controllers back then yet). Also, Joanna Dark was just as well known at the time as Tomb Raider was in her first games. Joanna just never got the proper (and timely) sequels it deserved and thus newer generations dont always know her. Not because of a lack of staying power, but because the studio had its issues afterwards (MS buyout, people leaving the studio, new consoles, kinect, etc…)
I remember pouring literally thousands of hours in the four player multiplayer with friends, everyone having their own color N64 controller (in hindsight they were pretty ugly, lol), chips and cokes in the room. I dont think any other game even comes close to the time investment I made in that game. It just had awesome weapons and superb arena design (temple). And even the bots were pretty good (darkbots ftw!) and are probably the reason some people still request bots in multi fps games.
All in all probably the best years (Rare and Nintendo were a magical combination) in gaming I ever had, and what I miss in online gaming sometimes (Halo please bring back splitscreen!), just not the same as a get together with some mates playing an incredible fun and competitive game. Thinking back on it now really makes me miss that era of gaming before all the divisions, destiny’s, etc…
I think its on me of the things I like about KI, because while I played the game back then really casual, the current game really combines the nostalgic feeling of then with solid modern gameplay, and it can be played vs a friend with bag of chips and a coke!

If Microsoft seriously comes back with a great new Banjo, Perfect Dark, Conker and Battletoads, just like they did Ki they will sell a lot of consoles, I dont know why they havent already…
I’m hopeful, because Phill Spencer seems like he geniunely loves (those kind of) games. Eventhough I still havent completely forgiven them for cancelling Fable legends…
Anyways, we will see what they have in the pipeline as far as new games are concerned, since E3 only really showed what they plan to release this year.

Lol I think rash brought popularity to ki.
I agree it will make some lime light for perfect dark. The oringal game sold 4 million units and the xbox 360 just over 1.5 million this is pretty darn good.
I dont think we should look at it simply as making ki better know or rebooting other titles.
Even if people went mad for Joanna rare has no time to make a perfect dark anyway (and I’m sure they don’t even want too)
Personally I think fusing ki and perfect dark lore would really help both games.
The games story outline syncs SO WELL and although I want new characters for KI as much as anyone, fusing Joannas story with KI would bring MUCH MORE possibilities

I wouldnt mind if those universes were combined, but I think it only works for Perfect Dark (and maybe a small link to Battletoads by way of the portal/other dimension), it worked for street fighter with the final fight characters.
Also, I dont think Rare would have to make a perfect dark game, as KI 2013 isnt made by rare either, it should be made by a studio/people that love the original if possible with some developers from back then, like KI does it.
Microsoft is no stranger to this model, seeing how they have a new studio for Halo (343) and Gears (the coalition).
That way Rare can continue work on Sea Of Thieves, which looks tremendous fun and seems like a game that has long term potential for support/expansion. I also loved the E3 video, with the weird over the top roleplay by the players, its typical old school Rare humor and it gives me hope.

Arbiter rash and ramm sit apart from the games story BUT I would love to see DataDyne vs UltraTech! It just totally makes sense.

i want to see scorpion or sub zero as guest in season 4. Want one of them more then Joana Dark. Halo brute and crackdown agent I pass, not want them. If we have guests, i only want these two. The game have so much guests 
I love mk but do not want a mortal kombat guest because ranked matches will end up being a scorpion fest I just know it

[/quote]Perfect Dark, the first one was basically the successor to Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64. It was the same exact game with different characters, weapons and a silly sci-fi plot. It was a good game, well it was a great game so a lot of people really have a ton of nostalgia for it.
The sequel on the Xbox 360 was a colossal let down, it was just a terrible game, I think most of the love for Joanna is because of the nostalgia of the original Perfect Dark not that she’s an interesting character. She’s kind of the best of the Rare characters though, at least the ones that would fit KI. Conker or Banjo are probably more popular but neither of those would fit Killer Instinct.
