It’s funny, the game map doesn’t change so I know exactly where you are in that parachute capture - even though I haven’t had a chance to play this in a while.
Hey found this thread buried somewhere…I bought this game back then, but bad optimisation kept me from playing, is it any better by now?
And are people here still playing…I could use a clan to join because I didnt get far beyond the campfire, clothes and some weapons and straw house back then…didnt fet he whole taming yet either and kept starving ![]()
I love the concept, but I feel these kind of games only work when Inhave someone to play it with, when Inplay alone, my mind starts wondering…same with Minecraft, which I love in theory, but only really find fun when I have some interaction. Which never happened their because they didnt have dedicated servers on xbox…
I’ll have to reinstall to check, but I heard that at least one version of the game was updated to have an improved frame rate. I hadn’t gone back since I lost my dodo in a tragic gate accident. Still a fun concept, especially if it’s working better now.
I usually find that if you have a clan or simply a big group of friends, these games tend to stay fun longer, I usually dont have that luxury, since no one in my direct surroudings has an xbox (although apparently the game has splitscreen now). otherwise its just you and your dodo, lol
Oh I’ve already got an army of other animals to be my friends. Even a few big ones. It’s just that I’d had Dude the Dodo for such a long time, even after I moved across the map (the full story is somewhere in this thread).
But I might get back into it, though I kinda preferred being able to pause or log off and not have to worry about starving or being robbed lol
The game isn’t optimized as of yet. Some patches added new tools and I believe a few new Dino’s along with minor visual improvements but for the most part it won’t be significantly different.
If it bothers you that much, I would just suggest waiting a bit longer since the full release is planned to launch by the end of the year, where they plan to fix the stutters and frame rate.
I don’t much play online, I always play single-player because I need to pause my game every now and then. I may join an online server and see how different it is.
I’ll probably hold off then till the game is more stable, maybe some of the people here can join in an online server/clan or something by then, I really need people to help me along because too much is left to the player to find out by themselves, like how to tame a dinosaur for example…
I don’t get online much like I said but if you ever need tips and advice I am always happy to help!
For anyone who is unaware, Ark is on sale currently, if you haven’t already - consider picking it up!
I’'m waiting for ARK: Primal survival. That way I can be a raptor, a titanoboa, a spider ect.
Primal survival should be out in November but I’ll bet it’s December,
Anyone playing still playing this? I feel like I made you waste your money @TheNinjaOstrich ![]()
Felt like I should post this, especially since the ocean has become slightly more dangerous than it once was. I shat myself during this encounter… literally lol.
Leedsichthys is now the largest marine life in the entire game. It also tips your raft over if you come too close to them. Now you can’t simply roam free without the fear of being knocked over by these beasts!
