You mean like what happened to Sabrewulf’s stage?
Hopefully not. I think that was one of the main reasons the lighting was completely redone to begin with, to avoid those type of uncontrollable one-off lighting issues.
Jago vs Tusk in a nutshell
Got a good laugh out of that thank you. Good times. Yeah and in the end they become a badass duo as well.
So I am a bit mixed on what was presented so far for season 3. I will admit, Tusk does look pretty damn old compared to his original design (also I just feel like you guys based his face off max’s cause it looks so much like him lol). Gameplay wise he looks great. Pretty damn powerful like expected and the deflect stuff sounds cool.
The new shadow effect…I don’t like it. If it still had the after images, then I would like it more. Without them, it feels kinda not as cool. Not sure why the after images had to go :(.
I will say I am glad we are getting a couple more “new” characters. Hopefully we can get another monsterous beauty like Hisako. Still hoping to see Gargos as the final season 3 character, my most anticipated character.
I am with some people though, I am still waiting to see the justification for lacking 5 extra stages, hopefully it will make up for it.
I am still excited and it’s gonna be a long 28 days. Thankfully you don’t have to have a subscription for the PC version so it won’t be a deal breaker for some people I know.
Will you guys make compadibility for all kind of PC sticks at some point or will it only be for x360/xbone sticks?
I like it. The Riptor staged only looks washed out, in comparison, to how damn dark it was before. I might be the only person, that doesn’t have a problem with Kim Wu’s face. I think it looks much better than Orchid’s. If people are going to be complaining about something, it should be the hair, on every character. On another note. The Salt is real. The fact that someone felt the need to make this video shows shows how much it bothers people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQDG_vH7-VU
No, the bugs where the flames coming out of the turbine turned into just a big red square on your screen
Yeah my thoughts exactly i wasn’t going to say anything about it though. I was watching some old Tusk clips since the teaser and very surprised about the face it’s not that it looks bad it’s the fact it’s “not Tusk”. I know characters change but you’re right he should be more tanned.
Awesome news! But I’m kinda worried about something…
The PC specs says the minimum requirement for the GPU is a nVidia GTX 480. I have a GTX 750Ti – which is actually slightly worse than a 480.
I wonder if the specs are exaggerated a little or if I really won’t be able to play the game like I should be able to (keep a constant 60fps, things like that). Here are my specs:
- GPU: GTX 750Ti SC
- CPU: AMD A10-6700 APU at 3.70 GHz
- Memory: 16GB DDR3
My specs are comparable (but actually even better) than an Xbox One, so I don’t understand why I wouldn’t be able to play the game on Medium settings – or even Low.
@rukizzel Just wondering, would you happen to know if I would be able to play the game fine with the specs above?
Well, I respect your opinion about the stage (even though I don’t agree with you lol)
Well…mainly Orchid and Sadira, they’re the real problem.
Omg, the fact that he’s comparing a fully budget game to an indie like game like Killer Instinct just proves he’s just a big ps4 fan who acts like a 12 year old lol
My friend I am even more worried with my i7 3610-QM @ 2.3 GHz, 8GB DDR3 and my poor little GT630 M
Yeah, as everyone rushes to say he’s broken because of his big damage let’s not forget that he is going to be giving something up for that damage. First, tusk is slow for a KI character. Second Keits describes a lot of his moves as “not cancelable,” which makes me think getting a real combo started may be challenging for him. We have some super fast characters in this game and others that have terrific mobility options. I think Tusk looks awesome but I think we need a little more data before everyone goes nuts worrying about his damage potential.

Really don’t know what to think about this. It’s like Armor 2.0 : stops opponent animation, doesn’t take damage, can lead to combo(via linking normals, situational)… I feel that Aganos armor feels outdated by this, but it’s too soon to say.
I think this is going to be an essential tool for tusk because his moves are pretty slow otherwise. So if he had a traditional move where the opening animation leads to “active” frames during the logical, damage part of the move, then he is going to get beaten by everything. This is really common in big FG characters. To combat this, they get some kind of quick jab and then you have this huge character with very damaging moves that builds his offense around his one and only safe poke (Zzzzzzzz). Instead, Tusk gets deflect so that for a very narrow window on startup his move is going to beat you. This means you can’t just jab him to death. It gives him a chance against pressure. But I’m convinced this is going to be balanced by the slow moves after the deflection. Look, it took Keits like five tries in the IGN video to get a deflection. So I think there’s a really interesting mechanic here. It’s too fast to use in reaction so it’s likely to be a rhythm thing.
Aganos’a armor absorbs your hit no matter when you hit him. I think when people have Tusk in their hands they will realize how tight the deflection timing is.
Generic Elder Scrolls NPC
Please show me an Elder Scrolls NPC that looks like this. People, “generic” is a ridiculous criticism in any case, but this is guy has flaming tattoos and a sword that heats up while he fights. You don’t have to like the design, that’s fine, but it’s not generic. I’d love to hear wha you would do better with the source material.
I read the specs oppositely. I thought the minimum were the recommended and viceversa. Reading more carefully, I discovered I have everything above the recommended (I have a AMD FX 6200), with the exception of the graphic card being as the recommended one.
I think you’ll be able, with that pc, to run the game at least with the low settings, but I think you need to wait for somebody expert here.
Especially with the MP and HP. Those look unsafe as hell and can’t get canceled out of. His neutral game is going to have problems
Just my 2 cents but I think the unannounced chars will be Gargos, Eyedol, New, and a Guest (please be Joanna Dark)
meter stocks should be blue until the stock of meter is filled, then turn purple
Makes sense w shadow moves have purple FX. Also would be easier to recognize how much meter you have
Just my general feeling on Tusk:
- Wait, doesn’t that mean I guessed right on the release date!?
- Yay, more players 'cause of PC release and XB1 owners get a free platform extension to PC! Woot!
- You just had to make the shadows purple to fit the theme of S3, didn’t you?
- Rash’s ultra with pause music is classic!
- There’s foot traffic behind the blue van of Kim Wu’s stage? Like, as in The Foot Clan? J/K
- Tusk’s voice seems too young for his apparent age/size. That beard, though…
- Tusk’s sword looks too heavy to be making “swishing” sounds, even for him.
- How does Arbiter’s size, well, size up against everyone else, including Tusk?
- The banshee stage ultra happens so quick, it almost ruins it, IMO - you should be able to see it coming.
- That Arbiter ultra with Halo music - it’s simply, well, legendary.
Tusk is great. Do not, and I mean do not zoom out on him like with Aganos. The sword is fine as it is, and you don’t need to see the full tip. He’s about as normal looking as TJ, but that’s okay! Some times simple is best. Considering his design was generic to begin with, he was modernized pretty well. His classing will be there for those who do not like his current look. There will also be accessories for each.
His teeth is might look weird, but I don’t think toothbrushes were a thing 1000+ years ago…especially for barbarians. Nice touch.
The size of his sword is just right for his built (KappaPride). I love slow characters that use giant swords. There’s just something about swinging around a metal that crushes and cuts. Guts cosigns. His sword combos are amazing who did those, and how? They look so natural.
His effects are great.
His playstyle is also great, He’s simple yet effective, like most of the S1 cast.
Don’t change anything for the nostalgia morons. By nostalgia morons I mean the guys who aren’t following the current KI but have a problem with Tusk’s look. Anyone following the game would know that there’s accessories, colors and a classic skin to choose from.
The current Tusk is a step up from a generic barbarian you could find in any barbarian comic. Not that it was hard. You’d have to be wearing some heavily rose tinted glasses to think Tusk was some god tier design back in the day. He was simple and he worked and now he’s simple and it works.
That’s a whole lotta speculation. Season 2 was only announced as having 8 characters too. Omen was a surprise. And Shadow Jago was never meant to be a 9th character. He was community funded over a year later.
