Too hard

I find the whole game mode too hard on “Normal”. Sometimes even the first opponents can surprise you with ridiculous combos. After the first day my fighters have 50-60% health and with very few healing items it makes the fight too hard in my opinion. Omens are almost impossible to beat, they apply extreme combos, I can barely move against them. Gargos is impossible. I think there should be an “Easy” or even “Very Easy” modes. Minimal rewards, but at least everyone could enjoy it.

Now I know many players are skilled but many are not so much. And if the other game modes can be set to very easy then I think this should be too.

I felt it was too easy on hard, and the fact they’re strengthening all the guardians is only going to make it easier. I was expecting everything in the mode to be nerfed not buffed.

Hell, all you need is 2 or 3 vampire guardians and there’s no need for using any other supplies at all.

I crushed a fully buffed Gargos without any trouble on hard. The hardest setting is like Normal AI in any CPU mode.

So basically, they’re going to have to make it a lot harder to hold my interest period. Killer and Kyle mode in Shadow Lords would totally float my boat.

For me, I found it inconsistent in terms of difficulty, and the only character that I normally use was Jago. One match I was destroying the AI and the next it was like it was reading my mind and it even taunted. Granted this is the beta and a lot of this will be ironed out.

All in all, the game mode wasn’t difficult.

Yeah, I got Perfect Snake really early and it made the mode a cakewalk, especially since replenishing its charges is trivial.

I honestly felt that it needed to be harder. Normal mode was a bit too easy tbh. I never needed more than one character to beat any of Omens or Gargos

They are fixing Gargos’s AI so you cant abuse his instinct any more, good luck beating fully buffed Gargos again.

I can understand for a brand new player it can be a little challenging on Normal, but it really isn’t, maybe try playing some matches against CPU in normal single player to get some experience with your favorite characters that you use in Shadow Lords, because believe me, once you get at least somewhat capable in using at least 1 character reliably you’ll see it’s really not much of a challenge on Normal, just takes some getting used to the game itself.

I am kind of new to the game but playing shadow lord’s at my friend’s place on Normal was Hard for me being new and all. Maybe there should be a Easy mode for new player’s like me.

I almost perfected Gargos on the Hardest setting with all his buffs using Mira and 1 vampire bat.

His stone flesh had nothing to do with his defeat. The fact that every combo I did replenished my life, instinct, and shadow meter made me 20x more buff than he was.

I’ve been listening to the DEV’s hype it up as “the hardest mode in fighting game ever” and “it’s going to break a lot of controllers” for the past 2 months, but it’s a breeze. I played through 3 times (1 normal, 2 hard) and never felt pressured once.

I’ll play until I unlock the mimic skins, but after that, I rather just play CPU survival or versus matches.

Then maybe there should be easier and harder modes too. I only say if there are easier settings for Story mode then there should be easier settings in Shadow Lords, too. Right now all I can do is to play for some in-game days until my team is wiped out. Then again and again, without any hope of beating Gargos ever. For me the main problem is that the AI sometimes makes such combos that it’s ridiculous. As if it went to some kind of berserk mode. An Omen once did a combo that drained my first full life bar almost completely. This is not fun. If other parts of the game can be set up differently then it would be cool if this could be too.

As a mediocre player my main complaint is while playing on normal might be more appropriate for me but the rewards aren’t even worth playing at that point. I’d get more rewards playing on Godlike and just deploying every mission than I could playing a legit playthrough on normal. Its just not even worth it.

I have to say its frustrating seeing all of the skilled players saying Godlike is easy and they need to crank up the difficulty because what they’re forgetting is that not everyone is that skilled and the difficulty is appropriate or even to challenging for the other groups of non-killer tier players.

I agree, Challenging mode is actually challenging for me (Omen fights and Gargos at least), I haven’t tried Godlike yet, I will but I expect a short run. :worried:

On challenging I can do okay but there are crazy difficulty spikes that make no sense. On the same day you could fight an enemy that feels like he’s set to easy then the next whoops your ■■■ like its ok Kyle.

I haven’t thought about this but you might be right. Maybe less skilled players are better off deploying on Godlike than actually playing on Normal. But if it’s true then it means the balance is not right. Nor the rewards neither the AI difficulty.
