Notes(-ish):
Shadow Jago possible counterpicks: Kan Ra, Spinal, Orchid, Sadira, Cinder
Literally everything is unsafe so need to play defensive no matter what
Surge doesn’t make moves safe just alters the set-up (slide surged knocks opponent off the ground)
Really only one decent juggle combo
Slide helps evade TJ’s charge
Any opponent that jumps constantly beats him out every time
Dash evades fullgores teleport attacks nicely
NOT A ZONE CHARACTER (he can’t zone for shit)
Elaborating: Juggle combos have little to no pay-out
Annihilation is beat out by any attack and can’t be combo’d into, current bug in game allows it to not be beat out by slides.

This is true, but it’s a KI defensive not a SF turtle defensive. In this case, teleporting around unpredictably and then capitalizing on the occasions where the other guy overcommits to something. Everything CAN be punished, but it isn’t always going to be.

His dash into any punch button crazy swirl beats a lot of jumping. His down HP is also a decent anti-air at the right range. His DP simply isn’t an antiair, and it’s really only effective against crossups. But he can compete by jumping too. So I don’t know that jumping is a particularly effective way to fight him.

[/quote] I would say he’s more of a situational zoner. For all intents and purposes he has only one fireball speed ■■■■■ fast). KI characters have a lot of tools for getting in, so zoning isn’t really a great strategy in the game, but Shago can do this pretty effectively for short periods. The key is to use misdirection - do forward jump into a low fireball, for example. So the other guy doesn’t know how or when the fireball is coming at him. Often he will be committed and then the fireball is so fast that it will hit him. But you’re right - he’s not going to live at full screen distance for the whole match. KI doesn’t really allow you to play this way (unless you’re fulgore, but even then he has to get in to do real damage).

[/quote]These are both true. Shago overall has pretty alarmingly low damage and it’s really apparent in his juggles. Annihilation only works when you catch someone flat footed, or landing after a jump/bouncing off you from a blocked special etc.
