So the 8bit beatdown is coming to an end. Is this a sign of ki coming to an end? Or is it just an 8bit thing? Either way it’s bad having one ki tournament less

That sucks! Hopefully they just mean for the season and not ever.
Ouch. It certainly can’t help, but I don’t consider it the “beginning of the end.”
Or at the very least, Killer Instinct is not “over,” so much as it may be winding down.
@KevBones10 you should sign up for the beatdown! You have a better chance than at an offline tournament since you’ll be in the comfort of your home. I’d like to see someone from the forums win it lol

Ummm… considering they’re currently running a fund-raiser for the 2017 tourney season, I would think the notion that KI is “coming to an end” is bordering on absurdity. 8BB is organized and run by a private studio that has nothing to do w/ MS, so whether or not 8BB continues has very little to do w/ KI’s official longevity.
Will we need to find a new host for KI online league stuff? Well, yeah. Does that mean KI is dying? Stop smoking the gunk you find under the sink, yo.

I believe it’s the end of the season as World Cup is nearing and this is technically a qualifying tournament.
Could be wrong though.

Okay I just saw on twitter, it’s the guys that organize the 8bit beatdown. Their personal lives isn’t leaving them enough free time to organize the tournaments so they’re gonna stop. Still sad. Less tournaments less exposure .

yeah I was going to post this…
They said they would love to do tournaments til the end of times but they just cant with their personal lives the way they are.
Who knows they may come back later or someone else will pick up the spot…
I wouldn’t be surprised if Kross Up (from stream.me) takes its place at the moment though since its sitting at 115 players at the moment… which is aload bigger than what the 8bits have been pulling lately (last one I entered had less than 40 if I recall)
I mean, I’ve never participated in or even watched a single 8-bit beatdown so I’d say it wont’ have any major impact on the game at large.

As long as the online tournament scene continues in 1 form or another (whether it be 8Bit, Krossup, or something else entirely) to promote KI, we’ll have nothing to worry about.
