Something doesn't feel right about combo breakers

It might just be me but since the latest patch from 2.12 combo breakers feel… weird to say the least. Combo breakers post patch feel like they are on a delay across the whole board. Normally when I face off against other opponents I guess and fail but when I find a trend in the combos I know how to break and usually get it on first hit of the first auto double. I’d hear the thud of the hit no problem and it would break, now it doesn’t do that and says my timing is off. My only guess is that the devs consider it as guess breaks and want to punish guessing and rewarding reads? I don’t know, I hope it’s not just me who thinks there’s some kind of delay

I do feel as if there’s some kind of delay; since the update, I can’t tell you how many times I’d do a combo-breaker during an AD only to watch nothing happen for nearly a full second, only to find myself getting locked out during the linker instead for a “wrong read” or “guess break” - and it’s not just with light ADs either! It seems to be happening with reactable ADs (that is, mediums and heavies) too. This kind of thing never really happened before.

That being said, it doesn’t make sense for the devs to try to stop guess-breaking, as it’s a natural part of the game and is virtually impossible to stop, so why try to put in a virtual limiter? They should know this, and I think they do, so I really don’t think that’s the case, but…

Maybe it’s just a bad networking bug or something… :’(

I don’t get incorrect intensities I keep getting that ■■■■■■■ clock over my head on hit one of AD

I am getting random combo breaker delays. I do it during an auto and nothing happens and I get locked out after the double ends.

Ah, I thought I noticed this yesterday but thought it was network lag or my own bad timing. But that might still be a possibility, I can’t be really sure. At certain points, tho, I was pretty sure I broke a guys light and medium doubles well within the window but I got a grey lockout. But this was all online so there’s no way to be sure. I can’t tell you how many times I went for a counterbreaker (well before the patch), heard the bluff sound coming out and still getting my combo broken. Rollback netcode can have effects like this, I suppose.

I remember distinctly, it happen twice where I would lock out an opponent and they would break me immediately after the lockout. I wish I had a video, but it happens rarely so it’s hard to get it. I should recorded the one in my archive but I lost track and it’s not stored anymore.
