Purple Shadow Stock when filled

Requesting that once a stock of meter is full, that it turn from blue to purple.

Rationale:
-Shadow moves/Shadow counters are now purple

-Easier to tell visually when you have a stock of meter ready to use. Sometimes in the midst of all the fast action, it can be hard to tell if you have enough meter or not.

-Having the bars change colors when they are filled would help stream watchers (potential new players) understand its significance and that it is a tool that can be used in the player’s arsenal

I think the entire concept around Killer Instinct is to make it easier for ANY player to jump and have at least somewhat of an understanding of what is going on.

I think this is a great idea. I totally agree with all in the op.

I hope this means Shadow Jago’s and Omen’s fireballs and vfx will now incorporate purple.

This is pure awful looool why dont we make the bars flash so we can see them more lol.

UI is meant to sit back so the game becomes imersive this is like POP.

In fighting games, that’s the point. You’re supposed to develop a constant awareness of the changes that occur within the UI during a match.

So why doesn’t MKX of SF 4 do that??

Both UI are very streamline.

MKX is like the biggest fighter ever… and that UI is perfectly clear but still subtle. It’s xray gauge isn’t negertive in effect to resemble the move…

Although I like to see some of the UI I’m not a huge fan of doing that through bright colours.

I love the purple on dark levels but on light levels for me it stands put too much. (From watching tusk game play)

MKX DOES do something like that. It doesn’t change colors because there is very little color to the game’s UI, but the symbols don’t appear until you have a full stock. I don’t recall what SF4 does, but I know they have a giant gauge in the corner that catches fire the more Ultra stock you have.

By your reasoning the MKX emblems and SF 4 Ultra gauge should remain flat, and you should have to measure it without.

Good idea. The more visual indicators the better, and this one is subtle.

Regardless of how much someone likes this or not, I’m sure they will get used to it. Remember how people hated the UI change for Season 1 -> Season 2? Some People didn’t like it but no one seems to complain about it anymore. Even if they don’t like it, they still got used to it and it doesn’t bother them too much anymore

But the bars ALWAYS FULL and it’s not one tiny logo it’s a huge bar… in fact it’s 2 huge bars…

If they turned the shadow bar into 3 logos like MK that then lit purple it would look less on screen.

SF4 bars r smaller than Kis too.

I just find them jarring. Minimise the HUD so we can see the beautiful backgrounds.

Try again, because I don’t understand what you’re saying. Every game with visible meters like the Shadow meter does something to differentiate between a full or filling meter. Having a bright, bold UI fits the style of KI perfectly, and I love the idea of having the shadow meter change color when it’s a full bar; I’ve often mis-judged how much meter I have and then end up confused as to why my shadow move never happened.

Well not really. … Ki 1 was super understated… Ki2 was bold as he’ll but most ppl hated that game over the first one (I didnt)

I dont need to try again lol. I just feel blue is a nutrual colour where purple is a high light.

I don’t think it’s a great idea to highlight bars that we have seen for the past 2 years no more than I felt it was necessary to write shadow next to them lol

Yes the HUD needs to be informative but it’s better when it’s more discreet like MKX or even KI1 in my opnion. Thoes HUDS sit back yet give you the information you need.

I don’t mind the way the HUD looks on KI3 but I don’t feel a change to purple will help us concentrate on what going on on the screen much more than before? For me it’s almost a distraction.

It’s all opnion. Pink to purple pulls my eye towards it. To me it’s an ascent colour and a colour of significant. It’s not a nutrual like blue white grey etc.

Of course colour is personal and we all react to colour differently

And this basicaly lol

 JUST FOR FUN!!!

Lol

Never understood te sure for the S2 UI - I always thought it leaps and bounds above the S1 UI.

As to the color of the shadow meter (which does flash when full, btw), place me firmly in the “meh” category. In still not entirely on board with them them changing the shadow effects in the first place. Really hoping the final version incorporates the trailing smoke/ink effect that shadows currently have. :-/
