Exactly! And every Omen player does this… Its a horrible change when the change could have implemented differently so that is doesn’t effect ALL moves out of throw.
It feels like whomever made the change…DOESN’T play Omen.

we have no protection after throw. I’m getting killed
You can still cancel into Shadow Rashakuken and Shadow Orda before the throw ends. I recommend using that when you throw mid screen. Your other better option can only be done twice per match and that’s pop instinct after the throw and then cancel into Shadow slide or regular slide.
Otherwise try not to throw mid screen. Save your throw tech for the corners if you can. Next time you have the urge to throw mid-screen, try breaking that habit and start doing light hit confirm into combo opener.
