More Fight Replay Options

Ok, there are a few things that go with this post… It’s pretty basic for the most part, but some of these options could potentially fix or stop a horrible bug from happening that’s been in the game since Season 1.

  1. Option to move or hide the on-screen HUD while watching a fight replay. Simple enough.

  2. Option to save replays LOCALLY, as well as the “auto-upload” that’s there now. This one’s a bit trickier. The issue is, A LOT of replays “de-sync” or become corrupt immediately after the fight. Meaning when you go back and watch them, at some point during that automatic replay save/upload, the server loses the fight, and it becomes a bunch of random nothing from ghost cpus…

  3. Option to Fast-Forward/Rewind. A little more control over the replay itself would be nice.

  4. Option to go back to the replay list when you pause. Currently you can go back to the archive menu, but not the replay list menu.

  5. Option to pause/quit during an ultra of a replay. Why must we watch the whole ultra during a Replay?

I think most of these are fair enough requests, and easy enough to implement. The question is, do they WANT us to have this much control lol…

I don’t think it’s deliberately keeping it from us, I just don’t think improving replays is a priority. As to my view of your l specific suggestions:

  1. yes, please yes. Coupled with Xbox One’s very nice screenshot capabilities this would make everything so much easier for capturing backgrounds and stick art.

  2. I’m not sure this is really possible and I’m not sure how beneficial it will really be.

  3. Yes. It’s pretty inexcusable not to have this basic functionality.

  4. Absolutely yes. Currently it makes everything a chore.

  5. Yes. I didn’t even know this was a thing.

  1. Option to remove/hide the Hit counter/combo txt during replay. Now this would give us ultimate cinema like replays, which would push the envelope for what they allow us to do with the game. It’s a stretch, but it would be EPIC.

Again they can’t do rewind or fast forward because the replays aren’t videos, they’re stored inputs that get recreated in game. In order to have a rewind feature they would have to make the game run backwards which is much more work than just simply adding a rewind button.

If they indeed are stored inputs that get “recreated” that would explain the “corrupted” replays… A fix for both then would be to record them live in the background… They don’t have to make the game run backwards lol

Just a rewind option and replay select is all I ask really.
