I feel since the mimic version is basically a green skinned version with smoke radiating off of them that it would be better as a color so you could have mimic versions of retro/normal or any accessory set compared to a only normal costume as an option.

I was actually wondering this myself. I certainly hope this is the approach they took, otherwise, it’s just going to be weird…
I did see that when they fought mimic Jago the mimic had color 2 clothes. It may be possible to use mimic skins on several costumes, but perhaps not.
