To all the guys here who took time out their lives to come to EVO and watch/compete in the KI tournament, I think it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the event. Did you have fun? Where did you place? Who were you rooting for in Top 8? Were you hype for Eyedol?
I’ve already talked multiple times about my own experience, so I won’t post just yet. Unless you guys want me to.

I personally wasn’t very impressed with the actual “event” side of EVO. I’ve run and seen events of comparable size being run both in Vegas and without, and while I want everyone to understand that event planning for 10,000 people (let that sink in - 10k people coming to play videogames!
) is hard, there were just some logistics decisions that didn’t sit well with me.
That said, the experience was definitely positive overall, and I found the KI community every bit as incredible (and even moreso) than I’d come to expect from CEO. I ran into a lot of really awesome players from all over the country and world, and got to hang out and talk with people I’ve only interacted with in a virtual setting - and turns out they’re really cool in person too
Playing in the tournament was fun, and playing in the various setups in rooms was even more fun. Got to run sets with MyGod and a couple of other really great players over the course of the weekend, saw some wonderfully broken tech (shout-outs to Bastfree and his brother!
) and best of all, learned an absolute ton while doing so.
I think the highest praise I can give though is just to say this: I flew 2,000 miles to play and watch KI for an entire weekend, and even though I did just that, I came back home thinking mostly about how much more I want to play and improve in this game. That’s really incredible when you think about it, and shout-out to the MS/IG team (who are also really awesome, by the way) for making a game that I love this much!

PS - the gelato from Mordor was amazing, and I apologize for doubting you @TheKeits
