Anyone else waiting for Pokemon GO?

Apparently NZ, JPN, and AUS have it, but the servers are down for US and EU.

I was able to Beta test it so I’m not sure how the final product looks.

Unless you are an outside or on-the-go person, it’s not something worth being hyped for.
It IS fun though, I can gurantee that if you enjoy the actual Pokemon games.

I’m hype.

Today I found a friend of mine standing with her phone in the mid of the hall at my university trying to capture a Zubat. I tried myself and after a whole minute spent on launching pokeball I gave up. Not the best first impression…

Obviously it’s not for everyone. I’m just super jazzed that I can catch some Pokemon while I’m out on a walk, or just hanging out downtown.

I’m willing to give it a shot. I like pokemon, but the system in go is… different to say the least.

Unfortunately there isn’t much I can catch from my office, but there’s a park next door where I can see two Gyms and three Stops; I assume I will find different/more Pokemon there too. I’ll be taking a little walk over before I head home today!

Just a reminder for anyone playing Pokemon GO, be mindful of your surroundings, because unlike in the Pokemon world, you can’t battle your way out of getting mugged.

 theres always somebody that has to ruin the fun.

As a friend of mine said, Team Rocket appears to be stepping up their operations.

No more hot air balloons and ridiculous disguises; just prison shank snatch-and-grabs.

Our office building is a Gym for some reason.

We now require all prospective employees to beat our gym as an interview pre-requisite.

I mean, we dont- but we should. I’ll bring it up with HR.

I live in DC so there’s a ton of PokeCenters and whatnot. Landmarks appear to have special significance.

As someone addicted to running and it’s health benefits- I do like that this game is encouraging people to get out and move.

No lie, I’ve walked more for fun in the last 2 days, than I have for like 6 months.

I went for a walk today to try and catch some Pokes. Just as I start I find one, then I walk around for an hour and find nothing. I give up and go home and find 3 pokes in front of my house.

Parks are great for finding Pokemon. Went to one yesterday and I caught about 30 in an hour.

Since 10:30 tonight to now (1 in the morning) a gym down the road has been changing from red to yellow. People are weird.

There’s a Gym by my place that’s changing from Blue to Red. They’re gonna learn quick that Red is best.

You mean you didn’t pick team Instinct? tsk tsk…

I bleed Red.

Seriously I was going to instantly pick Red until the yellow team’s name was Instinct.

Could almost hear the Mike announcer saying Team INSTINCT and I had no choice but to go with yellow.

There’s a lot about this game I don’t understand…

How do you “train” Pokemon?

Catching a pokemon gets you dust and that species’ candy. (Ex. If you catch a pikachu or a raichu you will get pikachu candy and dust.) Low CP pokemon require less dust.

If you get an egg from leveling or a pokestop, you need to put it in an incubator and walk the required Km for it to hatch. Also, if you have a duplicate low CP pokemon, you can select “Transfer” to give it to the Professor permanently, but you get 1 of that species’ candy.

If you want to evolve a pokemon, you need 12-50 of that species’ candy. The number varies for each species.
